Does Internet Infrastructure Construction Improve Corporate Green Innovation? Evidence from China

Green technology innovation has become a breakthrough topic in the coordinated development of economic growth and environmental protection. Although Internet is likely to key driver transformative change innovation, studies on impact internet infrastructure green analyses paths are still extremely scarce. Based sample China’s listed companies from 2009 2019, this paper treats Broadband China pilot strategy as quasi-natural experiment adopts time-varying difference-in-differences (DID) model explore effect transmission path construction innovation. The study finds that significantly promotes result remains consistent after series robustness tests. test proves affects by improving degree informatization, human capital, media reports reducing financing constraints. Furthermore, considering heterogeneity effect, greater stimulating state-owned, large-scale, high-tech enterprises; enterprises low-competition industries; mature stages; registered central eastern regions. This systematically analyzes effects based informatics theory, providing new insights for practice.
